Why the name Merita?
Merita is our second female introduced to our breeding program in 2022. Merita was born on August 7. On this day, in 1782, General George Washington, the commander in chief of the Continental Army, created the “Badge for Military Merit". Also known as "The Purple Heart", this decoration consists of a purple piece of silk, shaped like a heart. It is edged with a narrow binding of silver, with the word Merit stitched across the face.
Merita's sire is CH Lad Brilind Tiger Heart, and her dam is Almaznay Rossup Dakota Mayi. Merita comes from a long line of champions and great breeders in her pedigree which include Grand CH Beulahlands Don't Miss the Boat, CH Labry Berry Pearl of Collection, CH Olaris Night After Christmas, CH Hotti-Totti Honda Top Secret, CH Tiger Paws Herbu Zadora, CH Almaznay Rossup Beautiful Show, CH American Pie Z Grodu Hrabiego Malmesbury, CH Delightful Theory of Love for Holstep's, CH Mallorn's Ring My Bell, CH Triniti Dzhoi Midsummer Glow, and CH Beulahland Take My Heart Hotti Totti.
Merita has an amazing topline, is large boned and has great structure. She has a nice blocky head with a beautiful, soft, chocolate coat. She is always looking to play a game of fetch and never tires with it, but she loves to relax and stay by our side when we tire of fetching. Merita is such a faithful, hearty, enduring girl. She definately deserves our merit.
