Why the name Merita?
Merita joined our family in 2022. She was born on August 7. On this day, in 1782, General George Washington, the commander in chief of the Continental Army, created the “Badge for Military Merit". Also known as "The Purple Heart", this decoration consists of a purple piece of silk, shaped like a heart. It is edged with a narrow binding of silver, with the word Merit stitched across the face.
Merita has an amazing topline, is large boned and has excellent structure. She has a nice blocky head with a beautiful, soft, chocolate coat. She is always looking to play a game of fetch and never tires with it, but she loves to relax and stay by our side when we tire of throwing the ball for her. Merita is such a faithful, hearty, enduring girl. She definately deserves our merit.
